1966 Gibson Barney Kessel Custom Cherry Sunburst
A cool Barney Kessel Custom guitar. Cherry Sunburst Finish over a flamed maple top, Gold Hardware, Dual Patent Sticker Pickups, Gold Bonnet knobs, 5 piece Flamed Maple neck, Factory Grover tuners, and the great looking Bow tie inlays of the BK Custom. c.1935 Gibson L-00 Sunburst
Sunburst Finish, Spruce top, Mahogany Back and Sides, Firestripe Tortoiseshell pickguard, Script Logo, Large V shaped neck profile, and 1 3/4" nut width. The guitar displays nicks, dings, finish checking, and play wear. There are four unrepaired back cracks. The longest one extending about 9 inches vertically on the treble side. There is a line on the top behind the bridge on the treble side it is not open or all the way through. The saddle has been notched for lower action in the past. The current action is 4/32" bass side and 3/32" treble side at the 12th fret. The guitar is currently playable but would most likely require a neck reset for lower action. Big acoustic volume with lots of resonance. These 1930s L-00 Gibsons are great guitars. This one could use some TLC and we have decided to sell it in as found condition knowing that most people prefer to use the luthier of their choice. Ships in a 1980s aftermarket hardshell case. HSC $3395
